"The Pact" is a very compelling story of two late-teens, Emily and Chris, who grow up across the street from each other and eventually fall in love.  The families of both teenagers are best friends and thrilled at the prospect that their offspring will eventually marry.  Then, one day, everybody’s lives are torn apart when Emily is found dead.  Chris claims that Emily killed herself, part of a suicide pact he shared with her, but one that he couldn’t follow through with.  Both families are then shocked when later Chris is charged with murdering Emily.
